U10A White Knights Bring Home Silver Stick Championship!

The Soo Pee Wee U10A White Knights recently travelled to Sudbury for the International Silver Stick Sudbury Regional from November 15th-17th. The White Knights showed strong character and resiliency in multiple come-from-behind victories against formidable opponents.

To kick off the tournament, the White Knights faced the Copper Cliff Reds, where they faced a 1-0 deficit halfway through the game and came back to win 2-1. Next up in the schedule was the North Bay Trappers. Down 2-0 at the halfway mark, the Knights took advantage of a 5 on 3 powerplay to score twice and tie the game, and skate to a 2-2 final

On day 2, the Knights squared off against the Sudbury Wolves, once again finding themselves in a hole, down 2-1 in the third period. Not to be undeterred, the Knights stormed back, and potted the game winner with one minute left, for a 3-2 win. The final round robin game saw the Knights skate to a 4-0 victory over the Nickel City Cubs.

Finishing with an undefeated round robin put the Knights as the #1 seed facing the #4 seed Copper Cliff Reds in the semi Finals. The Knights were relentless and pushed the Reds hard all game, giving themselves a 2-0 lead through 2 periods, before the Reds attempted a comeback in the third, making it 2-1. The knights sealed the win with a late third period goal to advance to the finals with a 3-1 win.

In the finals, the Knights and North Bay Trappers squared off in a battle of the undefeated teams, with the Trappers sporting a 3-0-2 record, to the Knights 4-0-1 record. In an exciting back-and-forth affair where the Knights and Trappers traded goals in the first two periods, the Trappers were able to stake themselves a 4-2 lead halfway through the third period. Never losing focus, the Knights stormed back to score 3 goals in the final 5 minutes to claim the Silver Stick Championship!

White Knights roster includes; Maddox Boissoneau, Paul Kanneberg, Charlie Soulliere, Rowyn Biloudeau, Jake Plaskett, Kieren Bodnar, Easton Good, Noah Seabrook, Noah Pagliaro, Malcolm Stubbington, Max Tourigny, Liam Miller-Guise, Gabe Fascina, Leo Nolan, Gradie Pierman and Owen Boniferro. Coaching staff includes Nigel Good (HC), Jason Plaskett (AC), Michael Bodnar (AC), Nathaniel Boniferro (AC), Mike Pierman (AC), Eugene Pagliaro (T) and Carla Pagliaro (M).
