After 12 round robin games for eight U18 hockey programs from across Northern Ontario from Thursday, March 16th to March 19th in Sault Ste Marie at the 2023 GNU18HL Post Season Tournament four teams hit the ice on March 18th in the semi-finals with the Sudbury U18 Nickel Capitals took on the North Bay U18 Trappers followed by the Kapuskasing Flyers facing the Soo U18 Greyhounds in the second semi-final.
After a 7 – 2 win in the first semi day of the day over the Sudbury U18 Nickel Capitals, the North Bay U18 Trappers punched their ticket to the Sunday, March 19th championship game against after the Soo U18 Greyhounds defeated the Kapuskasing Flyers 7 – 1 in the second semi-final on Saturday, March 18th.
