Thunderbird Women Earned a Solid Victory over the Brock Badgers in Peterborough in OUA Action

Over the November 22nd to 24th weekend, the Algoma Thunderbird women and men’s curling programs traveled to Peterborough, Ontario to compete in their first bonspiel of the season at the Trent University Invitational.

The weekend saw both the women’s and men’s teams face strong competition. The women’s team earned a solid 6-4 victory over the Brock Badgers, but struggled in their second match, falling 2-11 to the Ottawa Gee-Gees.

On the men’s side, the Thunderbirds faced a tough start with a 2-9 loss to the Badgers and suffered another challenging defeat with a 3-9 loss to Ottawa. Despite the tough results, the tournament provided valuable experience as the team continues to build momentum for the season ahead.

Next up for the Algoma Thunderbird women and men’s curling programs will be in the new year when they open up in St Catherines when they take part at a 2025 curling bonspiel hosted by the Brock Badgers.
