In the second game of day in week one, the Superior Heights Steelhawks took to the field at Superior Heights on Saturday, September 10th against the Korah Colts in junior Sault Ste Marie High School junior football contest.
On the opening kickoff 18 seconds into the first quarter, Korah’s Hunter Dickinson runs for a 92 yard return to give the Colts a 6 – 0 lead. At 9:21 of the quarter, Nathan Guizzetti carries the ball for a 31 yard touchdown carry to bring the Colts lead to 12 – 0. Koen Manculenko runs for an extra to two points to increase Korah’s lead to 14 – 0 at 9:21. Nathan Higham rushes for a Colt 33 yard major to give Korah a 20 – 0 lead at 5:35 of the first. Nixon Blair finds the uprights for the convert for the Colts extra point to bring lead to 21 – 0. Koen Manculenko runs for a Korah two yard touchdown with 20.6 seconds remaining the opening quarter. Blair’s convert was successful to give the Colts a 28 – 0 lead. Korah’s Ethan Serrao finds the Steelhawk end zone with a one yard carry to give the Colts a 34 – 0 lead at 6:25 of the second quarter.
Koen Manculenko registers his second major of the 2022 junior season on a 25 yard carry to increase the Colts lead to 41 – 0 after a Nixon Blair convert at 2:47 of the second quarter. Korah earns one point with a rogue to bring lead to 42 – at 4:03 of the third quarter. With 1:43 left in the opening day of 2022 junior football for the Colts. Korah’s AJ Coccimiglio rushes for a 41 yard touchdown to give the Colts and 49 – 0 over Superior Heights after Nixon Blair’s third convert of the contest.
The Colts next game will be on Friday, September 16th in a 4:45 p.m contest against the St Mary’s Knights while the Steelhawks face the White Pines Wolverines on Thursday, September 15th in a 5:45 p.m kickoff. All three games will be live on Saultsports TV.
