Position: Defence
Team (2025/2026): Soo U15 AAA Greyhounds
What are the biggest areas of your game you’re focusing on improving this offseason?
The biggest areas of my game I’m focusing on improving this offseason are stick handling, shooting, agility, and hand eye coordination. I play baseball during the summer so it will help me with getting more agile and better hand eye.
How do you plan to balance on-ice training, off-ice conditioning, and recovery over the summer?
I will have some ice training sessions over the summer but I will mainly be focusing on off-ice conditioning and recovery. I will drink lots of fluids and eat healthy to keep up with my hard work and help me recover faster and more efficiently.
Are there any specific skills (skating, shooting, strength, hockey IQ) you’ve set goals for, and how will you measure progress?
Yes, I have set goals to improve my shot and get stronger during the offseason. I will track this by keeping track of the speed of my shot at the start of the summer compared to the end. I will keep track of my strength because I know how much weight I can do for each exercise and will write it down to see how much I improved over the summer.
What lessons are you taking from this past season that will shape how you train and prepare for next year?
I will train especially hard on the skills that I know I am not the best at and focus on lots of conditioning to get me in shape for the upcoming season.
What motivates you most heading into the offseason, and what are your expectations for yourself when you return?
The thing that motivates me the most is the thought of how good I can become if I just put my head down and work hard for it. My expectations for myself when I return are to improve in as many areas as possible and just get better as an all around player.
