On Wednesday, July 5th with their first Round Selection (7th overall) of the 2023 CHL Import Draft, the Soo Greyhounds selected defenceman Arttu Karki from Tappara U20 of the U20 SM-sarja Finnish league.
The 18-year old was just selected in the third Round (96th overall) of the 2023 NHL Draft by the Vegas Golden Knights last week.
During the 2022-23 season, in 36 regular season games with Tappara, Karki recorded 13 goals and 26 assists, good for 39 points. He later added 7 points (1G, 6A) in 12 post-season contests.
Arttu has represented his home country in all levels of international play – U16, U18, U19 and U20 levels.
