Soo Greyhounds General Manager Kyle Rafits announced Thursday, September 29th that the club was successful on their waiver claim for overage forward Mark Duarte.
Duarte, a Hamilton, Ontario native has played two seasons with his hometown Bulldogs.
One season ago the 6.02, 194 lb winger registered 10 goals and 14 assists (24 points) in 53 regular season games played. He later added three points (2g, 1a) in 17 post-season games while helping Hamilton to the 2022 OHL Championship and a berth in the Memorial Cup presented by Kia.
Earlier this month Duarte was in attendance at the Nashville Predators (NHL) Rookie Camp.
Originally selected in the 14th Round of the 2018 OHL Priority Selection, Mark Duarte joins Kalvyn Watson and Ryan Thompson as overage players (2002 birth year) on the Hounds.
