Soo City U18 United Grinds Out Weekend with a 1-1 Weekend: Building Momentum for the WRSL Season Ahead

Soo City U18 United faced a challenging stretch on the road In Woodstock, Ontario over the July 6th and 7th weekend when they met Woodstock FC, encountering Western Region Soccer League (WRSL) setback with a 3-1 loss on Saturday 3-1 and a 3-2 rebounding up on Sunday in their WSRL recent matchups.

Coach Steve Mazzuca told Saultsports that “Saturday’s game was a very evenly matched game, girls fell short missing a few golden opportunities one of them being a PK…Overall great performance!”

Sunday morning’s contest was “an exceptional performance, controlling 80 percent of the game. Opposition scored one late in the second half, but the girls were able to hold on with a 3-2 victory,” added Mazzuca.

Next games for the Soo City U18 United will be at home over the July 20th and 21st weekend in Sault Ste Marie at Tom Tipton soccer field with game times of 6:00 p.m (Saturday) and 11:00 a.m (Sunday) against HEAD 06G from Hillsburgh, Ontario. If the Soo City 18U United can earn wins in both home games, they can move to first place.
