The Sault U16 Sabercats gathered to celebrate an outstanding 2026 season by recognizing the dedication, hard work, and achievements of their players, coaches, and team staff during the annual awards presentation. Following a memorable campaign that showcased the team’s commitment, resilience, and growth, several deserving athletes were honoured for their excellence on and off the field. The evening was an opportunity to celebrate not only individual accomplishments but also the teamwork, sportsmanship, and determination that helped make the 2026 season a success. The JV Sabercats have announced a leadership transition ahead of the 2027 season, as longtime head coach Jim Monico steps down from his role behind the bench. While relinquishing the head coaching position, Jim will remain an important part of the organization, continuing to support the program and mentor its players and coaches. Taking over the reins for the 2027 campaign will be Dylan Monico, who now assumes the role of head coach. The players, players, alumni extend their sincere appreciation to Jim for his dedication, leadership, and commitment to the continued growth of the JV Sabercats, while looking forward to an exciting new chapter under Dylan’s leadership.
