The Sault Surge Aquatic Team will be amongst 66 clubs at the upcoming Canadian Western National Championships to be held at the Pan Am pool in Winnipeg, Manitoba from March 21-24, 2024.
Brie Reid will be competing in her first National championship meet and will be among the 450 athletes in attendance. Other Ontario clubs entered to compete in this meet include Kenora, Atikokan and Thunder Bay. Many athletes will be using this meet as a preparation meet to make the 2024 Olympic team. The Canadian Olympic Team selection takes place in May in Montreal.
Reid will compete in the 100m breaststroke event and is seeded 19th overall in the youth age division of the event with the top 16 swimmers advancing to the final.
