Sault Ste Marie Swimmer paige Banton to Represent Sault Surge at 2024 Bell Olympic & Paralympic Trials on CBC Gem

The 2024 Bell Olympic & Paralympic Trials serving as the selection meet for the Canadian Olympic Swim Team has started today running through to Sunday at the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre. 857 athletes representing 151 clubs and teams are vying to represent Canada at the 2024 Olympic games in Paris, France during the summer 2024.

Sault Surge swimmer Paige Banton will be representing Sault Ste. Marie at the meet. Banton will be competing at her second Olympic Trials meet but has competed at the national level since 2015. She will be attending the meet with her Marshall University coach Ian Walsh.

She is entered into the 100m breaststroke and 200m breaststroke events. The 100m Breaststroke is scheduled for Tuesday May 14 with the 200m Breaststroke scheduled for Friday May 17. Preliminaries are scheduled daily for 9:30 a.m with swimmers looking to earn spots in the finals at 6:00 p.m.

The meet will be live streamed at CBC.ca or on the CBC Gem streaming service.
