On Thursday, May 26th, Evan Dennis from Innisfil, Ontario is the first player on the roster for the Sault College men’s baseball team, who will be joining the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association this fall.
Head coach Mike Lebel was pleased with Dennis’ performance on May 21 at the Barrie, Ontario showcase, stating “he is a smooth fielding middle infielder with good speed”. Dennis currently plays for Nantyr Shores Tritons Secondary School. and will be entering the Aviation program in September.
This is the beginning of another competitive team at Sault College, and Manager of Athletics Paul Orazietti looks forward to watching the program grow. “We realize that it will take time to grow the Cougars Baseball team into an OCAA contender, but with a veteran staff in place and head coach Mike Lebel at the helm, we are optimistic that our team will show well in their inaugural season.”
The next training camp for the Cougars is Saturday, May 28th in Sault Ste. Marie. The camp will run from 10am-2pm at Sinclair Yards. If you are interested in attending, click here to fill out the registration form.
