Lucas Green Registers Four Points in Knights Win Over Steelhawks

At the John Rhodes Centre, the Superior Heights Steelhawks took to the ice to face the St Mary’s Knights in Sault Ste Marie High School Hockey League action on Thursday, November 30th.

At 7:54 of the opening period, Harley Wardell found the back of Steelhawk goaltender Jacob Nelson’s net to give the Knights a 1 – 0 lead with Kiran Juma and Tye Taylor adding the assists. Michael Weise evened the game 1 – 1 with Superior Heights lone goal behind St Mary’s netminder Grant Matthewson at 13:13 of the second. Ryder Magee notched the lone contributor on Weise’s tying goal. 15 seconds before the midway mark of the period, Carter Doucette gives the Knights a 2 – 1 lead with Lucas Green registering the helpers on Doucette’s go-ahead goal. Harley Wardell sets up the Knights third goal of the contest at 8:50 with Daniel Guzzo sinking St Mary’s third of the game. Jack McPherson increases the lead for the Knights at 3:21 of the middle stanza with Darian Pucci and Green drawing the contributors on McPherson’s goal.

Guzzo finds the back of Nelson’s net for his second of the game at 2:02 into the third with Doucette and Wardell adding the assist on Guzzo’s goal. Lucas Green registers his third point of the game with the Knights sixth of the game at 5:43 with Doucette and Rocco Gioia setting up Green’s goal. 25 seconds after St Mary’s sixth of the afternoon, Guzzo registers a hat trick at the 5:18 mark of the third with Gioia and Anthony Blonda contributing on Guzzo’s third of the game. Scoring the final goal of the contest at 3:52, Kye Taylor gives the Knights an 8 – 1 win over the Steelhawks. Green added the helpers on Taylor’s goal.
