The Lake Superior Figure Skating Club (LSFSC) was well represented at competitions across the province this past weekend. 15 figure skaters represented LSFSC at the Skate Ontario Thunder Bay Open Provincial Series competition March 1-3, 2024. The competition is final of the Skate Ontario Provincial qualifying series competitions. Provincial qualifying events include Star 5-Gold Free Skate, Star 7-9 Short Program, Star 5-Gold Artistic and Pre-Juvenile – Novice. Provincial Championships will be held March 22-24, 2024 in Brampton, Ontario.

There were also 2 Adult figure skaters representing LSFSC at the Skate Ontario Adult Championships in Kanata, Ontario March 1-2, 2024. The Adult Championships currently provide opportunities for adult skaters to experience the challenge of a competition in a fun, social environment. The events include Adult Introductory-Masters Elite level Singles Free Skate, Artistic and Showcase, Ice Dance, Pairs and Synchronizes skating.

“All of the LSFSC figure skaters have had a great season with growth and improvement across the board, a testament to their hard work and dedication. I couldn’t be more proud of each skater’s accomplishments. This weekend many skaters achieved personal best scores and 7 LSFSC skaters have secured spots to compete at the upcoming Skate Ontario Provincial Championships”, said LSFSC Director of Skating and Head Coach Kerry Bain.
