Over the October 13th to 15th weekend in Senior Girls Basketball action, the St Mary’s College Lady Knights traveled to London, Ontario to play in the Fanshawe College Basketball Tournament.

In game one, the Knights were up against Saunders of London and came out with a 41-29 victory. Abi Jaremko led all scorers with 11pts, Payton Magli had 9pts, Sydney Withers 8pts and Ella Zachary contributed with 5pts.

In game two, the Knights played a pesky team Medway High School of London and squeaked in a 27-24 win. Abi Jaremko again led the Knights with 7pts, Payton Magli and Ella Zachary pitched in with 5pts and Sydney Withers and Abby Macknight both chipped in with 4pts each.

In the Championship Game, Ella Zachary scored 22pts and Payton popped 19 pts including five 3 pointers as the Lady Knights defeated East Elgin Secondary School 61-49 to claim the title. Abby Macknight had a strong game with 8pts, Kloe Kurylo, Abi Jaremko and Grace Agawa also played great games contributed with 4pts each.

Ella and Payton were also selected to the Tournament All-Star Team.
