Korah Colts Crowned 2022 NOSSA Champions with Win Over Algonquin Barons

For the second straight NOSSA senior championship, the Korah Colts faced the Algonquin Barons in Sault Ste Marie at Superior Heights on Saturday, November 12th for a chance to head to Guelph, Ontario for a 2022 OFSAA appearance against the host of the 2022 OFSAA Football Festival on Wednesday, November 30th.

At 7:25 of the opening quarter, Kaylob Thibodeau carried the ball for a 20 yard touchdown carry to give the Colts a 7 – 0 lead with Ty Koski finding the uprights for the Korah convert. Running for his second major of the championship, Thibodeau gives the Colts a 14 – 0 lead with Koski adding the extra point at the 3:56 mark of the quarter. With 1:53 remaining in the quarter, Ronan Provenzano rushes for 25 yards to Korah’s third of the contest to give the Colts a 21 – 0 lead with Koski finding the uprights for his third straight convert. At 11:22 of the second quarter, Provenzano increases the hosts lead to 28 – 0 with an 18 yard carry and a convert by Koski. Breaking through the Barons defensive line, Cole Barbeau scores Korah’s fifth major to bring the lead to 35 – 0 with Koski kicking the extra point on the Colt convert. With a five yard carry Dante Scaglione gives the Colts a 42 – 0 lead with Koski adding the convert at 2:02 of the second. Jonah Pavoni rushes for the Colts final touchdown of the championships at the end of the second to give Korah a 48 – 0 lead. Koski kicks a successful convert to brng the lead to 49 – 0. Simon Dubé scores the lone touchdown for the Barons with 26.5 seconds remaining the game with a 15 run to bring the final to 49 – 6 after an unsuccessful two point conversion for Algonquin.
