Korah and St. Mary’s Pick Up Wins in Girls High School Basketball Action

On Tuesday, October 28th, Sault Ste. Marie Girls Junior and Senior High School Basketball action saw a full slate of games as the St. Mary’s Knights hosted the Superior Heights Steelhawks, while the White Pines Wolverines traveled to Korah Collegiate to face the Colts.

Junior Division
At Korah, the Colts continued their strong season with a 50–33 victory over the White Pines Wolverines. Leading the way for Korah was Aja Tomas with 14 points, followed closely by Aurora Aho who added 11. For White Pines, Niyana Fox once again showcased her scoring ability, putting up a game-high 24 points in the loss.

Meanwhile, at St. Mary’s College, the Knights defeated the Superior Heights Steelhawks 45–30. Blake Magli led the Knights with 16 points, while Mady Pavoni chipped in 9. For the Steelhawks, Kyle Hemsworth scored 14 and Eva Robinson added 4.

Senior Division
In senior action, the Korah Colts earned a 31–23 win over the White Pines Wolverines. Korah’s balanced attack was led by Ella Filice with 8 points and Claire Hill with 7. For White Pines, Aspen Devries and Ava Nolan led the Wolverines offense with 8 and 6 points respectively.

At St. Mary’s, the Knights edged the Superior Heights Steelhawks in a tight defensive battle, pulling out a 23–22 victory. Charlotte Nadeau led St. Mary’s with 8 points, while Meris McCabe added 7. For the Steelhawks, Caidynce McCormick scored 5, with both Cecilia Meade and Leah Yule contributing 4 apiece.

The 2025 girls junior and senior high school regular season will wrap up on Thursday, October 30th, when the White Pines Wolverines host the Superior Heights Steelhawks, and the St. Mary’s Knights welcome the Korah Colts to St. Mary’s College. Tipoff times are set for 5:30 p.m. (junior) and 7:00 p.m. (senior).
