Knights and Colts Advance to the 2025 City Finals in Sault Ste Marie High School Girls Basketball

On Tuesday, November 10th, all four junior and senior Sault Ste Marie high school girls basketball programs took to the court in semifinal action, each hoping to earn a spot in the 2025 city championships set for Friday, November 7th, at Superior Heights.

In junior division play, the St. Mary’s Knights powered past the White Pines Wolverines with a decisive 61–39 victory. The Knights’ balanced attack was led by Blake Magli with 11 points and Autumn Walker-Logan with 10. For White Pines, Niyana Fox and Nevaeh Elie each contributed 9 points in the loss.

In the other junior semi-final, the Korah Colts secured their spot in the championship by defeating the Superior Heights Steelhawks, 49–33. Aurora Aho paced Korah with 10 points while Olivia O’Neill added 7. The Steelhawks were led by Jenna De Beer with 8 and Eva Robinson with 5.

In senior division action, the St. Mary’s Knights edged out the Superior Heights Steelhawks, 33–26, in a hard-fought contest. Claire Tuckett led the Knights with 11 points and Meris McCabe added 8. For the Steelhawks, Cecelia Mead and Rena Brouillard each scored 9 in a strong effort.

The second senior semi-final saw the Korah Colts narrowly defeat the White Pines Wolverines, 27–26, in a thrilling finish. Claire Hill scored 11 and Shelbee Agawa added 10 for Korah, while Kaizly Murray and Aspen Devries each posted 8 points for White Pines.

With the victories, both the St. Mary’s Knights and Korah Colts will meet in the junior and senior city finals this Friday, November 7th, at Superior Heights. The junior championship is set to tip off at 5:30 p.m., followed by the senior final at 7:30 p.m.

Fans can expect an exciting night of basketball as two of the city’s strongest programs face off for the 2025 titles.
