On February 12th in Sault Ste. Marie Girls’ High School Junior and Senior Volleyball action, four local rivals hit the court as the White Pines Wolverines faced the Korah Colts, while the St. Mary’s Knights took on the Superior Heights Steelhawks in a full slate of junior and senior matchups.
In Junior play, White Pines set the tone early, earning a straight-sets victory over Korah by scores of 25–21 and 25–22, showing strong defensive coverage and timely scoring. In the other junior contest, St. Mary’s and Superior Heights battled through a thrilling three-set match. After dropping the opening set 25–20, the Knights responded with a 25–19 win before edging out the Steelhawks 16–14 in a dramatic deciding set to claim the match 2–1.
The intensity carried into the Senior division, where Korah and White Pines delivered one of the most exciting matches of the season. Korah took the opening set 25–19, White Pines answered with a narrow 29–27 win, but the Colts closed things out in extra points with a 20–18 victory to secure the match 2–1. Meanwhile, St. Mary’s continued their dominant form, sweeping Superior Heights 2–0 with convincing wins of 25–14 and 25–11.
With the final regular season matches complete, the 2025–2026 Sault Ste. Marie Girls’ High School Junior and Senior Volleyball season has officially wrapped up. The St. Mary’s Knights finished atop the standings in both divisions, capturing Junior and Senior regular season championship titles.
Attention now turns to the postseason, as the 2026 Sault Ste. Marie Girls’ High School Junior and Senior Volleyball City Championships are set to take place at Superior Heights on Thursday, February 19th, where city bragging rights and championship hardware will be on the line.
