After a 2-2 weekend in Sudbury over the August 7 and 8 weekend, the Soo 9U Black Sox took to the field at Sinclair Yards in Sault Ste Marie for a four-game weekend on August 21 and 22 against the visiting Valley East Jr Voyageurs in baseball action.

After closing out their competitive action of the 2021 baseball season, coach Steve McLeod told Saultsports that “Saturday, the boys couldn’t get any offense going and Valley East hit the ball hard. On Sunday, game one went relatively same way but in the last game the boys hit with them and made the defensive plays when we had the opportunity. The four run comeback in the bottom of the seventh for the win was fun to watch. We’re now finished playing out of town teams and have two remaining league games. Everyone improved this season and showed promise for future years.”
