Palumbo and Lincoln Moore drew the helpers on Aboflan’s goal to give the Soo a 2 – 0 lead. With a scramble in front of Greyhound netminder Charlie Burns net, Trapper Marshall McCharles pulls North Bay within one when sliding the goal under the Soo netminder at 9:13 of the first.

First year forward Cole Cond catches a pass from behind the Trappers net from Gabe Zimbaro to increase the visitors lead to 3 – 1. Palumbo and Lincoln Moore registered the helpers on Cond’s first of the season. Aboflan sends the Greyhounds into the second intermission with 11 seconds left in the period after catching a pass after a Soo three on one from forward Gabe Zimbaro to give the Soo a 4 – 1 lead. Austin Fellinger notched the other contributor on Aboflan’s goal. Scoring his second of the contest 50 seconds before the halfway mark of the third, Aboflan secures the Soo’s first win of the season with sliding the fifth under Papineau’s left pad to give the Greyhounds a 5 – 1 win. Connor Chow Lynn had the assist on Aboflan’s hat trick goal.

Greyhound coach Jamie Henderson told Saultsports that “we started a bit slow there were a few gitters but credit the boys they got better as the game went on. We’ll look to build off tonight and I’m sure we’ll be better tomorrow after a good night’s rest but for sure it’s a nice start for this young group.”

The Greyhounds will now hit the ice with a 2:20 p.m puck drop in North Bay against the U16 Trappers on Sunday, October 24th matchup.
