North Bay U16 Trappers Shutout Soo U18 Greyhounds in North Bay

Coming off a 5 – 1 win in North Bay on October 23rd to open their 2021 – 2022 GNML season over the North Bay U16 Trappers, the Soo U18 Greyhounds returned to action on Sunday, October 24th for an afternoon matinee against their host, the North Bay U16 Trappers.

Caiden Kowal sends a pass from the right of Greyhound netminder Terry See’s net to find Trapper Mason Brownlee to sinks the opening goal for North Bay under See’s pad to give the host a 1 – 0 lead at 11:35 of the first. With a drop pass from Mason Wray inside the left faceoff circle, Jesse Lefebvre fires a slapshot into See’s net over the Greyhound netminder catcher to bring the lead to 2 – 0 for North Bay. Marshall McCharles notched the second assist on Lefebvre’s goal at 15:54 of the middle stanza. With See on the Soo’s bench for an extra attacker, Anthony Boyes sinks the final goal of the game into an empty Greyhound net to give the Trappers a 3 – 0 win. Nate Gravelle registered the lone helper on Boyes goal. North Bay’s Michael Purkhart earned the shutout in the Trappers win over the visiting Greyhounds.

The Greyhounds return home for a midweek clash when they play host to the Sudbury Nickel Capitals on Wednesday, October 27th with a 7:00 p.m puck drop.
