Algoma University Varsity Athletics is excited to announce that Genica Legge has committed to the Thunderbird Women’s Soccer program for the 2022 – 2023 season.

Genica is from Maple Ridge, British Columbia and plays for the Albion FC Soccer Club.

Genica will be studying in the four year Business Administration program at Algoma U. Along with soccer, Genica plays volleyball and basketball. She is an avid snowboarder and wakeboarder. She also enjoys baking and hanging out with her friends.

Head Coach of Thunderbird Women’s Soccer Neil Ovey would like to “Welcome Genica to the Thunderbirds. She is going to be a great addition to the program and she is a utility player and can cover many positions. She will bring a good work ethic and we are looking forward to working with her.”

Genica says “I chose Algoma because of the opportunity Coach Neil is giving me to be on the soccer team. As well as being a Student-Athlete, I am very impressed with the importance that Coach Neil and recruitment department have with putting academics first. Also, I was looking for a small school environment away from home for some new experiences.”
