With weeks of preparation, dedication, and camaraderie ahead of them, teams will gear up to showcase their talent, passion, and determination on the gridiron.
The 2023 high school football season brings a fresh start for all teams as they leave behind the challenges and triumphs of the past. Each team begins the season with a blank slate, offering new opportunities for both veterans and rookies to make their mark on the field. Coaches are eager to build upon last year’s experiences and foster growth within their squads, preparing for an unforgettable journey.

Spencer Headrick
Position: Offensive Line

Spencer will lead our offensive line (aka “The Chain Gang”) and will also be one of the top Defensive Linemen in the league.

Spencer brings tremendous speed, athleticism, and Leadership to the Korah Football Program.

Spencer’s toughness and speed are his two greatest assets on the line.

Spencer is highly respected by his teammates because he works so hard throughout the year.

Quickness and physicality.

Spencer brings intelligence, experience, and great Leadership to The Korah Football Program.
Ashton Sawchyn
Position: Defensive Line

What should Korah fans expect from Ashton?
Ashton will likely be a major contributor on both the OL and DL.
How does Ashton impact our roster? Ashton was a key member of the Sault Sabercats and has played both OL and DL for the Cats. His experience and Leadership will have a major positive impact on our roster.
The Player’s strongest attributes that suit them for the position: Ashton’s raw strength and toughness allow him to excel on the OL and DL.
How does Ashton handle leadership responsibilities in the position: Ashton will be expected to take on a bigger leadership role in 2023. He already Leads by example, but he is expected to be a more vocal Leader in 2023.
What do you consider to be Ashton’s most outstanding physical attribute or skill? Toughness and brute strength.
How does Ashton contribute to a team’s success beyond individual performance? Ashton has a tremendous work ethic and love of the game. His love for Football is contagious!
Kaylob Thibodeau
Position: Running Back
Grade: 12
Graduation Year: Class of 2025

What should Korah fans expect from Kaylob?
Kaylob had an amazing 2022 season being named to the 1st Team All-Ontario All-Star Team as a Fullback. Expect more of the same from Kaylob in the 2023. He will bring an aggressive downhill running style. He’s a throwback Fullback that will run over defenders.
How does Kaylob impact our roster?
Kaylob brings great toughness and athleticism to our Program.
What are Kaylob’s strongest attributes that suit them for the position?
Kaylob’s blend of power, agility and balance are very rare. You don’t often come across a player who can run you over one play, then sidestep you with grace on the next play.
How does Kaylob handle leadership responsibilities in the position?
Kaylob was the only grade 11 on our Leadership council last season. He is an excellent multi-sport Athlete who also excels in hockey, badminton, track & field, and soccer. He has plenty of experience as a Leader in high level competition.

Downhill running!

Kaylob genuinely cares about his Teammates. He is a great locker room guy!
Erik Martone
Position: Quarterback

Erik is an elite multi-sport athlete. He has big game experience, and this will be his second year in our offensive system. Look for Erik to bring an experienced approach to managing the game.

Erik brings experience and athleticism to our Team. He will also play defensive back for Korah.
What are Eric’s strongest attributes that suit them for the position?
Erik is a quick learner and has a strong desire to improve.
How does Erik handle leadership responsibilities in the position?
Erik will be expected to take on a bigger Leadership role in 2023. He has experience Leading as this is his fourth year in the Korah Football Program. He is also a Leader in our Basketball Program.

Erik’s overall athleticism allows him to excel in multiple areas.
How does Eric contribute to a team’s success beyond individual performance?
Erik is a great teammate who will empower his teammates to reach their full potential.
Ethan Scott
Position: Receiver/Tight End

Ethan will bring elite athleticism in a 6’4 frame!
How does Ethan impact our roster?
Ethan is extremely versatile and he can play multiple positions. Look for Ethan to make significant contributions at TE, DE, Receiver, and Special Teams.
What are Ethan’s strongest attributes that suit them for the position?
Ethan possesses great length and an excellent wingspan. Combine that with his athleticism and experience and he is an elite threat in all 3 facets of the game.
How does Ethan handle leadership responsibilities in the position?
Ethan is having an excellent off-season. He has already added significant muscle to his frame in the off-season and he gained significant experience playing for the Sault Sabercats. Ethan has made a major commitment to improve this off-season, both as an Athlete and as a Leader.
What do you consider to be Ethan’s most outstanding physical attribute or skill?
Athleticism and pass rush.

Ethan’s experience and willingness to help his Teammates will be vital to our Team’s success.
Drew Esposito
Position: Linebacker

Drew is a Team Captain. He was one of the top Linebackers in the league in 2022, and we expect more of the same in 2023. Drew also plays guard in our offense.

Leadership is Drew’s greatest asset. He has earned the respect of our entire roster through his commitment, work ethic and strong interpersonal skills.
What are Drew’s strongest attributes that suit them for the position?
Drew’s ability to read an offense and play downhill are his greatest attributes at linebacker.
How does Drew handle leadership responsibilities in the position?
Drew was a Team Captain in 2022. He excelled in this role. Drew’s Leadership experience will be invaluable for the 2023 season.

Position: Defensive Back

Cole brings experience and physical play to the Korah Football program!

Cole is a HITTER! He delivers punishing hits but is also an elite coverage player.
How does Cole handle leadership responsibilities in the position?
Cole has grown significantly in our Program. We expect him to continue to grow as a Leader in 2023. He is highly respected by his teammates.

Cole’s physical play and his versatility are his greatest attributes.
How does Cole contribute to a team’s success beyond individual performance?
Cole brings great energy, physical play, and is a weapon that can change the game in all three facets (Offense, Defense, & Special Teams).
