With another full house with over 3000+ short track race fans in the bleachers on August 11th, 40+ drivers in five different divisions took to the track to race Thursday Night Thunder in their weekly racing show at Laird Raceway.
In the Super Late Model feature, young gun Chase Wilson who has had some technical problems this season with the #77 Super Late Model took home the checkered flag well ahead his fellow veteran drivers with #90 Jay Palumbo finishing second ahead of #21K Kevin Errington. Jay Palumbo #90 ran away with the Modified division checkered flag after a quarter track win. Johnny Lawhorn (#84) and (#01) John Ross rounded out the top three respectively in the modified divison on Thursday Night Thunder.
After a heated second heat race, the Factory Stock feature was the most exciting division to watch on August 11th with the Bibeau Boys taking first and second. Dan Bibeau (#8) edged (#26) Brad Bibeau at the finish line to win the Factory Stock division in front of 3000+ fans at Laird Raceway. Jarritt Varcoe headed home with a third place finish behind the Bibeau’s. In the four cylinder division, 17 year old rookie driver #22 Shanna Harten made her way through the traffic to bring home the four cylinder feature win with #95 Chuck Siddall and Tyler Praysner rounding out the top three. With 22 cars starting the Enduro division feature to close out the night of racing at Laird Raceway on August 11th, Levi Weisflock #96 won the Eduro division ahead of #04 Dale Tucker and #05 Tristan Anderson to take home the checkered division title.
Laird Raceway has two more nights of racing with Thursday Night Thunder taking to the track on August 18th before the season finale on August 26 and 27 with the $10,000 Super Late Model Mike Parsons Memorial 73 lap race with drivers from all over the province vying for the big pay day at Laird Raceway.
