Wolverines, Knights Claim Key Wins in Busy Night of Sault High School Basketball to Close Out January 2026

On Tuesday, January 20th in Sault Ste. Marie High School junior and senior boys basketball action, teams took to the court across the city with the White Pines Wolverines traveling west to Korah Collegiate to face the Colts, while the Superior Heights Steelhawks visited St. Mary’s College to take on the Knights. The night featured strong individual performances, decisive team efforts, and important implications for the standings.

In senior action, the undefeated White Pines Wolverines continued their perfect season with a 53–42 road victory over the Korah Colts. Garrin Pine led the Wolverines with 13 points, supported by Ethan McCorkell’s 11, as White Pines used balanced scoring and defensive pressure to control the game. Korah was paced by Tristan Cote with 18 points, while Colton Jones added 11 in the loss. At St. Mary’s College, the Knights earned a hard-fought 63–57 win over the Superior Heights Steelhawks. Nik Frost delivered an outstanding performance for Superior Heights with 29 points, with Drayden Brock contributing 13. However, St. Mary’s countered with a balanced attack led by Isaac Lacasse’s 17 points and Nishchay Dua’s 13 to secure the home victory.

In junior action, Korah Collegiate earned a commanding 59–31 win over the White Pines Wolverines. Alex Farrell led the Colts with 15 points, while Paxton Brodie and Nolan Coudert each added 14 in a strong all-around team performance. White Pines was led by Aiden Dacosta with 14 points, followed by Christian Budd with eight and Blake Hopkin with five. Meanwhile, at St. Mary’s College, the Knights completed a junior-senior sweep with a 63–57 win over the Superior Heights Steelhawks. Lukas Maninos led the Knights with 18 points, Jackson Carroll added 17, and Luke Cady chipped in nine. Superior Heights saw contributions from Nash Frost (8), Isaiah Davies (7), and Anthony Charters (7).

As of January 21st, the updated standings show the White Pines Wolverines sitting atop the senior division at 7–0, followed by the St. Mary’s Knights at 3–4, with both the Superior Heights Steelhawks and Korah Colts tied at 2–5. In the junior division, the St. Mary’s Knights remain undefeated at 7–0, ahead of the Korah Colts (4–3), Superior Heights Steelhawks (3–4), and White Pines Wolverines (0–7).

The next action in boys high school junior and senior basketball will take place on February 3rd, when the Korah Colts visit the Knights at St. Mary’s College, while the White Pines Wolverines host the Superior Heights Steelhawks.
