The CASS Huskies battled hard in their tournament opener but fell just short in a 31–29 loss to the White Pines Wolverines. In the second game of the evening, the Algonquin Barons put forth a strong effort but were unable to keep pace with the fast-moving l’Horizon Aigles, who claimed a 46–38 victory to advance.
Day Two was on Saturday, November 15th with the semi-finals and championship taking place with Saturday morning seeing the Wolverines continue their momentum, securing a 38–24 win over the Algonquin Barons in the first semi-final to punch their ticket to the championship game. In the other semi-final, the CASS Huskies’ tournament run came to an end as they fell 44–28 to the dominant Aigles, who advanced to set up a highly anticipated final against White Pines.
The championship game lived up to expectations, with both teams showcasing speed, skill, and determination. The Wolverines kept the score close throughout, but l’Horizon’s defensive pressure and timely scoring proved to be the difference. When the final buzzer sounded, the Aigles claimed the NOSSA title with a 37–31 victory.
With the win, the l’Horizon Aigles earned the right to represent the region at the 2025 OFSAA ‘A’ Girls Basketball Championships, taking place November 20th–22nd in Brockville, Ontario. The White Pines Wolverines finish the tournament with a well-earned silver medal after a strong showing throughout the weekend.
