The road to Summerside, P.E.I., and the Centennial Cup is drawing closer to see who will take part in the ten team event, which goes May 7-17, at Credit Union Place.

There are currently 35 Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) clubs still in contention to see who will join host Summerside Western Capitals (MHL) at this year’s Centennial Cup.

Each of the CJHL’s nine member leagues have reached the semifinal stage in their respective playoffs and their quests to capture a league title and punch their ticket to P.E.I.

We know there will be a new Centennial Cup champion in 2026 as the defending title holders, the Calgary Canucks, were knocked off by the Canmore Eagles in quarter-final play in Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) postseason action.

Also of note, 17 of the 20 teams tabbed in the final CJHL Top 20 Rankings – Fuelled by Gatorade, for the 2025-26 campaign remain in the hunt, including the Top 5 as well as nine of the first 10.
