The Soo U14AA Greyhounds travelled to Georgetown, Ontario, over the October 9–10 weekend to compete in the 2026 Halton Hills ‘Best of the Best’ tournament, facing three opponents in a weekend of U14AA hockey action.
The tournament featured a competitive field that included the Milton Winterhawks, Peterborough Petes, Vaughan Panthers, Halton Hills Thunder, Cheektowaga Warriors, North Bay Trappers and the Soo Greyhounds.
The Greyhounds opened their tournament schedule on Friday, October 9, against the Peterborough Petes. Soo was held off the scoreboard as Peterborough recorded a 3–0 victory in the 6:25 p.m matchup.
Soo returned to the ice Saturday morning, October 10, to face the Milton Winterhawks in a 10:15 a.m contest. The Greyhounds found the back of the net three times but were unable to overcome Milton, falling by a 5–3 score.
The Greyhounds wrapped up their tournament schedule Saturday afternoon against the host Halton Hills Thunder. In the 4:15 p.m matchup, Soo managed one goal, while Halton Hills scored five to secure a 5–1 victory.
Despite the three losses, the Georgetown tournament provided the Soo U14AA Greyhounds with an opportunity to compete against teams from outside their regular schedule as they continue their season.
