The Soo U13 Greyhounds welcomed the Sudbury U13 Wolves to Sault Ste. Marie over the January 3rd and 4th weekend for a three-game Northern Ontario AAA Hockey League series. The set provided a challenging test for the Greyhounds as they faced one of the league’s top U13 programs.
Action opened Saturday morning with a tightly contested matchup, where the Wolves edged the Greyhounds 2–1 in an 11:30 a.m. start. Sudbury built momentum later in the day, earning a 5–0 victory in the second game of the doubleheader at 4:00 p.m. The series wrapped up Sunday morning, with the Wolves again coming out on top by a 5–1 score in the final game.
Despite the results, the weekend offered valuable experience for the Greyhounds as they continue to develop and compete at the AAA level.
The Soo U13 Greyhounds return to home ice on January 10th and 11th for another three-game series, this time against the North Bay U13 Trappers. Game one is set for 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 10th at the John Rhodes Centre, followed by game two later that day at 3:30 p.m., also at the John Rhodes Centre. The weekend will conclude with an 11:30 a.m. puck drop at the Northern Community Centre.
