Tough Losses for Algoma Thunderbird Men’s and Women’s Basketball Programs in Guelph

Over the November 17th and 18th weekend, the Algoma OUA Thunderbird basketball programs made their way down to Guelph for back to back games against the Gryphons.

On Friday, the women’s team managed to have a close third quarter, but it was Guelph who ultimately took the win for a final score of 59-41. Kaila Fong had a stellar game, earning the team 21 points – making up half of the team’s final score!

On Saturday, the women had a tougher game, loosing to Guelph 72-39. With the second quarter being tied, Algoma faced a hard second half of the game. Top scorer was once again Kaila Fong, who earned the team 12 points.

On Friday, although the men had a great fourth quarter, the team lost 89-79. Taleh Wade had an outstanding game, scoring the team 27 points.

On Saturday, the team had a tough game like the women. The team lost 83-53. Top scorer of the game was Taleh Wade with 17 points.

The Algoma OUA Thunderbird host the Waterloo Warriors on November 24th and 25th at the GLC in Sault Ste Marie.
