The Soo Thunderbirds have announced on Monday, July 3rd that they have signed forward and Blainville, Quebec native Thomas Degagne as a free agent.
Degagne, who is a 2005-birth-year forward, split time last season with the MHL’s Grand Falls Rapids and the QJAAHL’s Montreal Phoenix, and tallied a total of 4 goals and 11 assists in 47 games played.
“Thomas was a player that we recruited last summer, and he’s a player that plays with grit and tenacity,” said Soo Thunderbirds assistant coach and general manager Jamie Henderson. “
Degagne, who was originally born in Le Chesnay, France, then ended up moving to Canada when he was only one.
The Blainville , Quebec, becomes the second player out of Quebec to sign with the Thunderbirds during this offseason, joining James Legler.
“I’m very excited to join the Thunderbirds family and am extremely motivated for the upcoming season,” Degagne said. “I’ve heard so many great things about the organization and I’m pumped!”
