Taylor Barker of Sault Ste Marie Commits to Algoma Men’s Soccer for Fall of 2021

On Thursday, April 1st, Algoma University Varsity Athletics announced that Taylor Barker has committed to the Thunderbird Men’s Soccer program for the 2021 – 2022 season.

Taylor is the second player from Sault Ste. Marie to commit to the Thunderbirds. He attended Korah Collegiate and has played soccer for 16 years. He has been a member of the Bryst Football Academy, Grand Rapids Alliance FC and the Northern Ontario Regional Program program and plays the back line of defense.

Taylor will be in his second year of Psychology at Algoma U.

Head Coach of Thunderbird Men’s Soccer Sam Medaglia says: “Taylor will be a presence in the back four. At over 6′ tall, we are hope he will make it difficult for opponents to penetrate our back line. He shows exceptional ball handling skills and is quick on his feet. He is one of two Sault boys on the team.”

Taylor says: “The main reason for choosing Algoma U is that I want to play competitive soccer close to home while pursuing Psychology degree a subject that interests me.”
