On Wednesday, October 7th, week three and the midway point of the 2026 Sault Ste. Marie High School Boys Volleyball season came to a close with a pair of exciting matchups. The Voyageurs faced the Colts at Notre Dame while the Steelhawks took on the Wolverines at White Pines.
The Superior Heights Steelhawks battled their way to a thrilling 3-2 victory over the White Pines Wolverines. White Pines opened the match with an 18-25 win in the first set, but Superior Heights responded by taking the next two sets 25-21 and 25-22. The Wolverines answered back with a 25-18 fourth-set victory, forcing a decisive fifth set. In a back-and-forth finish, the Steelhawks came out on top 16-14 to secure the five-set victory.
In the other week three matchup, the Notre Dame Voyageurs earned a straight-set 3-0 victory over the Korah Colts. Notre Dame controlled the match from the opening serve, taking the first set 25-17 before following it up with a 25-18 win in the second. The Voyageurs closed out the match with a dominant 25-13 third-set victory to complete the sweep.
Week four will feature just one evening of high school volleyball action, with both matches taking place on Wednesday, October 14th. The Notre Dame Voyageurs will take on the St. Mary’s Knights at St. Mary’s College, while the Superior Heights Steelhawks will face the Korah Colts at Korah Collegiate. With the regular season reaching its second half, both matchups will provide another opportunity for teams to build momentum heading toward the playoffs.
