Steelhawks and Knights Shine at 2026 Sault Ste. Marie High School Girls Volleyball Final Four

On Thursday, February 19th, the 2026 Sault Ste. Marie High School Girls Volleyball Final Four Championships served up a full day of high-energy action at White Pines, showcasing the depth of volleyball talent across the city. With championship spots and NOSSA berths on the line, teams rose to the occasion with passion, skill, and poise.

Following round-robin play, the junior championship match featured a thrilling showdown between Superior Heights Steelhawks and St. Mary’s College. The two sides traded momentum in a tightly contested final, delivering long rallies and clutch points throughout. In the end, the Steelhawks edged out the Knights with a hard-fought 2–1 victory to claim the junior city championship. Both teams impressed with their composure and competitive spirit, making for an exciting final that lived up to the stage.

The senior championship featured St. Mary’s Knights facing off against Korah Colts after strong round-robin performances by both squads. The match showcased a high level of play from start to finish, with disciplined defense and well-executed attacks on display. St. Mary’s controlled the tempo and capitalized on key moments, sweeping the match 3–0 to secure the senior girls’ volleyball city championship.

Road to NOSSA with city titles decided, several teams now turn their focus to the next level of competition. The Senior Korah Colts and Junior Superior Heights Steelhawks will represent Sault Ste. Marie at the AAA NOSSA Championships, hosted locally on Thursday, February 26.

Meanwhile, both the Junior and Senior St. Mary’s Knights advance to the AA NOSSA Championships in North Bay on Friday, February 27. Rounding out the city’s representation, the White Pines Wolverines will compete at the A NOSSA Championship in Sudbury, also on Friday, February 27.

From intense finals to well-earned qualifications, the Final Four at White Pines was a celebration of excellence in high school volleyball—one that sets the stage for strong showings at NOSSA and beyond.
