Stallions Gallop Past Sault U16 Sabercats on the Road in Barrie

After a 53 – 0 shutout on the road on Saturday, June 17th over the Clarington Knights, the Sault U16 Sabercats hit the road for a mid afternoon matchup in Barrie against the 3 – 0 Huronia Stallions in c action.

In Barrie in U16 action on Saturday afternoon, the Sabercats fell to the Stallions in a 49 – 28 loss. Nathan Guizzetti scored three touchdowns and added four more points in two two-point conversions while Ethan Serrao scored the other major for the Sabercats while catching one two conversion in the loss. For the Stallions, Michael Wallin, Noah Buckindale, and Jake Allen each scored a touchdown in the win along with Colby McNabb finding the Sabercat endzone for four majors in Huronia’s win. Noah Buckindale found the uprights seven times after each Stallion convert in the 49 – 28 win over the Sault.

Coach Will Basawa told Saultsports that “today’s game was definitely not the result we wanted but with a less than ideal week of practice these things will happen. Hats Off to a great team in Huronia, they came out and executed their game plan. Hopefully we can see them down the road again in the playoffs. We need to regroup, refine our fundamentals and expand on what is working for us.”

The Sabercats next opponent will be in Belleville, Ontario on Sunday, July 2nd when they meet the Quinte Skyhawks in OSFL 16 action.
