Soo U13 AAA Greyhounds Earn Solid Results on Southwestern Ontario Road Trip

Over the December 20th and 21st weekend, the Soo U13 AAA Greyhounds traveled south for a three-game road swing against Alliance Hockey Association opponents, taking on the Chatham-West Cyclones, Sun County Panthers, and the Windsor Spitfires.

The weekend opened on a strong note Friday night in Chatham, where the Greyhounds delivered a dominant performance, shutting out the Cyclones 6–0. The Soo controlled play from start to finish, generating consistent offensive pressure while limiting Chatham-West’s chances, setting the tone for the remainder of the road trip.

Saturday evening in Essex saw a much tighter contest as the Greyhounds faced the Sun County Panthers. Both teams battled hard in a defensive-minded matchup that ultimately ended in a 1–1 draw. Despite quality scoring chances at both ends of the ice, neither side was able to find a go-ahead goal, resulting in a hard-earned road point for the Soo.

The Greyhounds wrapped up their Southwestern Ontario trip Sunday morning in Windsor against the Spitfires. In an evenly matched game, the Soo and Windsor traded goals throughout the contest, skating to a 3–3 tie. The result capped off a productive weekend for the Greyhounds as they showed consistency and resilience against strong Alliance competition heading into the holiday break.

The Soo U13 AAA Greyhounds will return to action on January 3rd and 4th, hosting the Sudbury U13 Wolves in Sault Ste. Marie. Game one is set for an 11:30 a.m. puck drop on January 3rd at the John Rhodes Centre, followed by a 4:00 p.m. matchup Saturday afternoon at the same venue. The weekend series will conclude Sunday morning with a 10:00 a.m. start at the Northern Community Centre as the Greyhounds resume play following the 2025 Christmas break.
