With the winter season currently at the halfway point, the Sault Men’s Basketball League continues to bring local basketball players together each week at the George Leach Centre at Algoma University. League organizers say they are thrilled with the continued growth of the league and are proud to keep providing organized basketball opportunities for the community.
While the winter season continues, registration has officially opened for the Summer 2026 season, which will once again take place at the George Leach Centre. Players interested in joining one of the city’s fastest-growing recreational basketball leagues can now secure their spot, with registration open until April 18th.
This summer will also feature an exciting new addition to the league: a Social Division. Designed for players looking for a more relaxed and recreational experience, the division is open to both men and women ages 16 and up. Games in the Social Division will be played 4v4, half court, with an emphasis on fun, fitness, and community rather than intense competition.
The league will also continue to run its traditional A and B competitive divisions, where teams compete in a regular season schedule followed by playoffs.
Players interested in joining the summer season are encouraged to register early, as spots are limited and expected to fill quickly before the April 18 registration deadline.
More information and registration details can be found through the league’s official websites, Winter and Summer.
