Sault Ice Hawks Bring Home Multiple Medals from the 2023 Northeast Regionals

Last weekend, March 31st – April 2nd, the Sault Ringette Club was represented in Timmins by four Ice Hawks Travel Teams at the Northeast Regional Championship. The tournament features the top teams from around the region who
compete in a 3 day tournament. It featured teams from FUN2 (6-7 yrs. old) up to the 18+ division.

As the culminating tournament of their season the teams were focused and prepared to give it all they had.

The competition began Friday for all teams. It was a strong showing with all three teams (U10, U12A and U12B) playing in their age division moving on to the medal round. After an undefeated Round Robin, the U10 Ice Hawks moved straight to the final where they won Gold after defeating Walden 7-1. The U12A Ice Hawks who haven’t lost a game all season took that perfect record to the final and came out with a narrow 2-1 overtime victory over Greater
Sudbury to capture Gold. After a great round robin and just being edged out by Great Sudbury 7-6 in their Semi-Final game the U12B team came home with a Bronze medal.

The fourth team representing the Sault Ringette Club showed a lot of heart and hustle the whole weekend while playing in a higher age division.
