Over the Saturday, September 17 and Sunday, September 18 weekend, the Sault College Cougars (0-2) women and (0-2) men soccer programs took to the road to face the Fleming Knights on September 17 followed by the Durham Lords on September 18 in OCAA soccer action.

In their first 2022 road games, the Cougar men fell to 0 – 4 on the season with the men losing 5-0 to the Fleming Knights and 6 – 0 to the Durham Lords while the women improved their record to 0-3-1 with a tie against the Fleming Knights 0 – 0 followed by a 9 – 0 loss to the Durham Lords to wrap up their first road trip of 2022.

Sault College men’s coach Brandon Syms told Saultsports that “The performance this weekend was definitely tough for us, an 0-4 start to the season is not how you want to open but you have to take the positives out of it. It’s a short season and we put it behind us and look forward to the weekend. Things to improve on heading into our upcoming homestand are defensive marking, keeping our shape and mental toughness.”

The men and women’s programs now return to Saul Ste Marie for September 24 and 25 contests against the George Brown Huskies on September 24 and September 25 matchups against the visiting Seneca Sting. Games time will be 12:00 p.m (women) and 2:00 p.m (men) respectively. September 24 games will be at Superior Heighs while the September 25 games will take place at Tom Tipton Field.
