In front of over 3000+ short track racing fans on Thursday, July 27th at Laird Raceway, 60+ drivers jumped behind the wheel of five different divisions looking to bring home the checkered flag.
Jay Palumbo of Goulais River, Ontario who was piloting his modified and super late model #90 took home a first place finish while having right tire problems with his Super Late Model finished fifth in the Super Late Model division with young gun Chase Wilson heading home to Sault Ste Marie with his second Super Late Model checkered flag at Thursday Night Thunder.
In the four cylinder division, #5 Tyler Praysner won with a quarter track lead for his third straight feature win of 2023. Jacob Ritchie won the Enduro division feature along with Jarrit Varcoe holding off Rob Wagner in the Factory Stock feature on Thursday, July 27th.
Thunder Night Thunder on July 27th brought some veteran drivers that included #22 J.P DelPaggio (Modified), Jeremy Van Hoek (Super Late Model), Kevin Errington (Super Late Model), Shawn Ritchie (Super Late Model).
Four Cylinder division leader #5 Tyler Praysner told Saultsports that “we’re having a good season so far able to keep the car in one piece, we’ve been hitting our marks and driving smart and it’s paid off, going into the rest of the season were just looking to keep things rolling smoothly and stay outta trouble, we’ve got some new drivers in some fast cars that will definitely be contenders in the very near future, I just want thank all my sponsors and my team that helps make sure everything goes smooth.”
