Open Ice 3on3 Tournament Returns to Sault Ste Marie in April 2026

One of the Northern Ontario’s most popular spring hockey traditions is set to return, as the annual Open Ice 3on3 Tournament celebrates its 23rd year in 2026. The four-day event will take place from April 23 to 26, 2026, bringing fast-paced action, high energy, and top-tier competition back to the ice.

Registration is officially open, with a team entry fee of $900. The Open Ice 3on3 Tournament continues to be a favourite for players, coaches, and fans alike, offering an exciting format that emphasizes speed, skill, and creativity while providing a memorable experience for participants of all levels.

New for 2026, teams competing in the Greyhound Division will benefit from an updated roster rule. Teams are now permitted to carry a maximum of four (4) “AA” or “AAA” players, an increase from the previous limit of three.

With over two decades of success, the Open Ice 3on3 Tournament remains a must-attend event on the hockey calendar. Spots are expected to fill quickly, and teams are encouraged to register early to secure their place in the 2026 edition of this premier spring hockey tournament.
