Northern Heights Sports Club Taking the Game to a New Level in Sault Ste Marie

Northern Heights Sports Club is excited to announce the election of three university level coaches to the helm of our Board of Directors. Their experience, knowledge and love of the game will provide players, grassroots to senior level, with the necessary training to achieve their future soccer goals. Whether players just want to learn and have fun, or if they have dreams of playing at a higher level (college/university, provincially or nationally), we want to ensure that we offer successional training programs that prepare our players to compete at the next level.

Northern Heights Sports Club is a club united in our vision. Our tight knit staff and coaches pledge to uphold its dedication and commitment to maintaining full transparency in what we want to achieve and how we plan on achieving it. Maintaining the trust and support of our players and their families is our number one goal and is at the heart of everything we do.

We want to encourage and inspire players to grow in all areas; mentally, emotionally, socially and physically both on and off the field.

Northern Heights Sports Club will not only work on building the skill development of the individual player by going back to the basics (the grassroots of individual skill development and ball control) but also developing their tactical and technical skills in order to work as an effective part of a team. Teaching and building on the basics is crucial to a player’s overall development where they can grow and become more confident with the ball at their feet.

As the Board’s first action item, a new training program has been developed to help those wishing to access high level training and to create a pathway to higher level soccer. Developed, designed, and facilitated by three university soccer coaches, the High Performance Technical and Tactical Training program will begin in November 2021 and is available to all players U10-U18 (2013-2004). More information about the High Performance Technical and Tactical Training program can be found on their website.

Northern Heights Sports Club looks to support each player’s individual journey and help them reach their final destination. Our pathway offers a route for all, keeping players in the game and promoting soccer for life.

Registration for the NHSC 2021-22 Indoor Soccer Season is now open. If you are planning to register, we are asking that you do so sooner rather than later and do not wait until the September 20th deadline. With the short turnaround time this year, it is very important that we get a feel for our numbers as soon as possible so that we can finalize playing days and times for each division.

NHSC and NCC have COVID-19 protocols in place aimed at keeping parents, coaches, and players safe. Please see below for details regarding the upcoming season.

NHSC believes in order to build and maintain a successful soccer club, input from all club members, players and parents are needed. If you have any comments, suggestions or questions, please send an email to nhscsoccer@gmail.com.
