Laker Hunter Soper Earns Third Consecutive GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week Honors

Hunter Soper (Lexington, Mich.) has been named the GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week for the third week in a row, as announced by the league office on Monday, December 2nd.

Soper continued to be key to the Lakers’ success on the defensive end of the floor, notching 4 steals, 2 blocks, and 9 rebounds in LSSU’s 53-49 victory over No. 4 Minnesota-Duluth. His efforts helped the Lakers earn stop after stop, holding Duluth to nearly 30 points below their season average of 77.8, and his game-high 9 rebounds held UMD to only 4 second chance points on the day.

Soper and the Lakers return to action when they open GLIAC play on Tuesday, December 3rd with tipoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
