The Korah Colts delivered a strong offensive performance on Thursday, October 8, at Superior Heights Field, earning a convincing 47-6 victory over the White Pines Wolverines in Sault Ste. Marie junior high school football action.
The Colts, who entered the contest with a 2-2 record, improved to 3-2 with the win, while the Wolverines fell to 0-5 after another challenging outing. Korah running back Keigan Thomson led the offensive attack with four touchdowns, helping the Colts pull away and secure the victory.
Korah opened the scoring with 37.9 seconds remaining in the first quarter when Connor Williamson carried the ball five yards into the end zone. Finnley Aho added the extra point to give the Colts a 7-0 lead.
White Pines answered almost immediately. With 21.9 seconds remaining in the opening quarter, Lucian Talda-Chillman fielded a Korah punt and returned it 75 yards for a touchdown, bringing the Wolverines within one point. The score remained 7-6 in favour of Korah.
The Colts responded in the second quarter behind quarterback Lucas McMaster. At 10:14, McMaster connected with Tyson Brown on a 12-yard touchdown pass into the Wolverines’ end zone. Aho converted the extra point to extend Korah’s lead to 14-6.
Korah continued to build momentum late in the first half. At 2:13, McMaster completed a 16-yard pass to Thomson, who followed it with a 34-yard rushing carry to help set up another Colts scoring opportunity. Korah increased its advantage to 20-6.
With 50.2 seconds remaining before halftime, Thomson broke through the White Pines defensive line from the four-yard line to score his first touchdown of the contest. Aho added the extra point, sending the Colts into the break with a 27-6 advantage.
Korah carried that momentum into the second half. At 9:42 of the third quarter, McMaster took the ball himself and rushed through the Wolverines’ defensive line from the four-yard line for a touchdown, extending the Colts’ lead to 33-6.
Thomson then took over, adding another rushing touchdown at 6:04 of the third quarter on an eight-yard carry. The score moved to 39-6 as Korah continued to control the game on both sides of the ball.
The Colts’ offensive production continued into the fourth quarter, with Thomson finding open field and breaking away for a 42-yard touchdown run at 10:08. The score marked his fourth touchdown of the game and pushed Korah’s lead to 45-6 before Aho added the conversion to make it 46-6.
After Korah was unsuccessful on a 21-yard field goal attempt, White Pines conceded a rouge at 6:47 of the fourth quarter, accounting for the final point in the 47-6 Colts victory.
Colts Find Success on the Ground
Thomson finished with 105 rushing yards and four touchdowns to headline the Korah offence. Williamson also contributed a productive rushing performance, finishing with 91 yards on the ground.
McMaster directed the Colts’ passing attack, recording 70 passing yards while connecting with Brown and Thomson on key plays. Brown’s second-quarter touchdown reception helped Korah regain control after the Wolverines’ early punt-return score.
For White Pines, quarterback Easton Jones finished with 88 passing yards, while Oliver Bishop led the Wolverines’ rushing production with 34 yards. Talda-Chillman added 12 rushing yards to go along with his 75-yard punt-return touchdown, which provided one of the game’s biggest early highlights for White Pines.
Defensive Contributions
Korah also received important contributions from its defence as the Colts limited the Wolverines to six points.
Jake Damignani led the Korah defence with 12 tackles, while Bradley Marshall recorded six. Jakob Mullin, Brock Biagini and Noah Nelles each registered a quarterback sack, helping the Colts disrupt the White Pines offence.
For the Wolverines, Chance Pregent-Zack and Caden Eder were credited with six tackles each, while Cain Sayers-Pine added five tackles in a defensive effort against a productive Korah rushing attack.

The Korah Colts will return to the field on Thursday, October 15, when they face the Superior Heights Steelhawks in a 4:45 p.m. kickoff.
The White Pines Wolverines will look to rebound on Friday, October 16, when they take on the St. Mary’s Knights, with kickoff scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
With Thomson leading the way with four touchdowns and the Colts producing across their offence and defence, Korah will look to carry its momentum into its next matchup against the Steelhawks.
