In girls high school basketball action over the September 20th and 21st weekend in North Bay, both our junior and senior St Mary’s Knights programs brought home championship banners in the 2024 West Ferris Trojans Tournament.
For the juniors, they defeated St. Joe Scollard Hall 38-24, Horizon from Sudbury 32-22, Chippewa Secondary 46-29 and in the Championship game the Knights defeated White Pines 49-29. High scorers for the Knights throughout the weekend were Blake Magli, Niyana Fox, Madi Pavoni, Charlotte Nadeau and Maggie Hendrie.
In senior action, the Lady Knights kept all 4 teams under 20 points to claim the title. They defeated St. Joe Scollard Hall from North Bay 60-18, Horizon from Sudbury 51-17, Chippewa Secondary 64-5 and defeated West Ferris from North Bay 44-14 in the Championship. High Scorers were Sienna Magli, Abi Jaremko, Mady Perhonen, Kloe Kurylo and Marissa Levesque.
Next action for the Lady Knights is Wednesday, September 25th at White Pines. Juniors play at 5:30 p.m and seniors at 7:00 p.m.
