The 2025 Sault Ste. Marie High School Junior Football season kicks off on Saturday, September 6th as the reigning champions, the Korah Colts, face the White Pines Wolverines under the lights at Superior Heights Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

The Colts enter the season riding the momentum of their eighth consecutive junior championship in 2024, when they shut out the St. Mary’s Knights 20–0. Over the past decade, Korah has been a powerhouse, capturing eight of the last ten junior city championships and building a tradition of excellence both on and off the field.

With a strong core of returning grade ten players, the 2025 roster promises to keep that winning tradition alive. Defensive standouts to watch include Nolan Coudert (RB/DB), Kaleb Laitinen (RB/LB), Amadeo Filice (DL/RB/LB), James Yule (DE/REC), Jace Albury (DB/REC), Myles Wade (LB), Martino Coccimiglio (RB/LB), Cruz Moreno (OL/DL), and Jairren Kaldma (RB/DE).

Coach Marco Bernabucci told Saultsports that “all these players have put in a lot of off season work. The jump from grade 9 to grade 10 is so noticeable among our staff. Players come with tons of football IQ, size, and speed.”

“We have had some great players graduate up to the senior ranks on the Junior Team. It is players like Martino, Nolan, Amedio, Jared, and Jarrin that have been putting in hard work in getting prepared to lead the 2025 Korah Colts. We are a very ‘bring the lunchbox’ football team that doesn’t focus on individual accolades, the 2025 Colts are focused on playing as a unit-the Korah Colts way. We are excited to get going with so much talent in the junior loop this season. We know Coach Bono, Coach Klooster, and Coach Bujold are going to have their teams ready. They are going to be tough games week in and week out, but that’s what we love,” said Bernabucci.

“We are just looking to prepare ourselves as best we can, like we normally do and have a well balanced attack in all three facets of the game,” added Bernabucci.

Fans can expect hard-hitting action, determined defense, and the same relentless Colts spirit that has made Korah the team to beat. The quest for a ninth straight championship begins September 6th — and the Colts are ready.
