Greyhounds Shut Out by Reds at the 2026 OHF U13AA Championships

The Soo Greyhounds hit the ice on Saturday, April 18th, falling 2–0 to the host Copper Cliff Reds in Copper Cliff on day two in Copper Cliff.

Looking to secure their first win of the البطولة, the Greyhounds battled hard in a tightly contested matchup, but were unable to break through offensively against a strong Reds lineup.

The opening period remained scoreless, with both teams trading chances but receiving solid goaltending at each end. Soo’s Asher Caswell and Copper Cliff’s Mio Martic kept the game deadlocked through the first 20 minutes.

The Reds broke the stalemate in the second period at the 5:09 mark. Jérémie Neale scored his first goal of the championships, finishing a play set up by Jaxon Rocca and Patrick Snow to give the hosts a 1–0 lead.

Copper Cliff extended their advantage early in the third period. At 5:04, Coen Larochelle found the back of the net for his first goal of the tournament, with Jérémie Neale picking up the assist, making it 2–0.

Despite continued effort from the Greyhounds, they were unable to solve Martic, who stood tall in net to preserve the shutout victory for the Reds. Caswell delivered a strong performance between the pipes for Soo, keeping his team within reach throughout the game.

With the loss, the Greyhounds will meet the Leaside Flames in a 2:30 p.m matchup in Copper Cliff.
