Algoma University Varsity Athletics announced Monday, March 29th that Florencia Almada has committed to the Thunderbird Women’s Soccer program for the 2021 – 2022 season.
Florencia is from Kitchener, Ontario and attends Cameron Heights High School. She is a member of Berlin FC and plays in the midfield position.
Florencia will be studying in the four year Biology program at Algoma U.
Head Coach of Thunderbird Women’s Soccer Neil Ovey says: “We are getting a solid player in “Flo” both technically and mentally. She possesses a great drive and desire for the game of soccer which will contribute to our program’s success.”
Florencia says: “I chose Algoma U because of the enthusiasm of Head Coach Ovey and his dedication to the program which made me believe I was making the right choice. I also liked the friendliness of the teammates I met and the wonderful location of the University. I hope to assist in leading the team to multiple victories this upcoming season and I hope to one day be the team’s captain.”
