Dance Core Inc. Dominates GLOW Dance Competition in St. Catharine’s

From April 9-12, 2026, the stage at the GLOW Dance Competition was set ablaze as dancers from across the region gathered to showcase their talent and  technique. Emerging from the competition as a powerhouse of artistry and precision, Dance Core Inc. is proud to announce they have been awarded the  prestigious Top Sapphire Studio Award.

This top honour reflects the studio’s overall excellence across all age categories and genres, in the Sapphire division, marking a milestone achievement for the  dancers, choreographers, and instructors.

The studio’s success was highlighted by an incredible run of Top Overall 1st Place finishes in the Sapphire division:

  • Tiny Category: Top Overall 1st Place (“Trolley Song” (Mini Tap Small Group) with a Platinum Plus award)
  • Junior Category: Top Overall 1st Place (○ “New Attitude” (Jazz Trio) performed by Abby, Harper, and Natalia, with a Platinum Plus award/ “Conga” Jazz Super Line performed by the entire competitive team with an After Glow award)
  • Teen Category: Top Overall 1st Place (“Omigod You Guys” (Musical Theatre Duet/Trio) performed by Ally, Chloe & Mya with an After Glow award/“Crabbuckit” (Tap Small Group) with an After Glow award)
  • Senior Category: Top Overall 1st Place (“Say My Name” (Tap Solo) performed by Chloe with an After Glow award/“Make It Look Easy” (Senior Tap Duet) performed by Chloe & Mya with a Platinum Plus award/“Bittersweet Symphony” (Senior Small Contemporary Group) with a Platinum Plus award)

Dance Core Inc. also earned high rankings across several other Sapphire division categories, including 2nd Place Overall for Senior Small Group “Just Keep  Watching” (Hip Hop) and Tiny Small Group “Hip to be Square” (Jazz), as well as a 3rd Place Overall for Junior Large Group “Higher Ground”(Jazz). Mya took 4th Place Overall for Senior Solo “Hit Me With a Hot Note” (Jazz), while Sophia took 10th Place Overall for Junior Solo “Blue Skies” (Tap).

Dance Core students were further recognized through a series of Adjudicator’s Choice Awards. The Unparalleled Precision Award was presented to the Tap  routine & Trolley Song,” while “Bittersweet Symphony” received the Creative Brilliance Choreography Award (Miss Ange). Other highlights

included Mya earning the Outstanding Technique Award for her Jazz solo, “Hit Me with a Hot Note,” and Teia receiving the Captivating Performance Award for her Hip Hop solo, “Tambourine.”

Special Awards also went to the Junior Hip Hop group “Bring Em Out” for being Stage Presence Super Stars, Abby for Unreal Upperbody for her Jazz solo, “It’s About that Walk”, and Ally, Chloe & Mya for an Unforgettable Performance for their Musical Theatre Trio, “Omigod You Guys”. Lastly, the studio’s Jazz Super Line “Conga” received the Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop award for endless energy throughout their routine.

The competition concluded with two individual honours as Mya and Chloe were awarded scholarships to the Encore Dance Challenge and Dance Look,  respectively.

Dance Core Inc’s Year End Recital, “Dance Core Presents…REMEMBER”, will be taking place on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at 4pm at the Sault Community Theatre Centre. The show will be featuring both Recreational and Competitive dancers. Tickets are available at the Station Mall Box Office starting April 23, 2026 and online starting April 24, 2026 at saultctc.ca.
